Food Bank to provide milk to members thanks to partnership with Happy Planet Foods
Greater Vancouver Food Bank Announces Partnership with Happy Planet Foods to Provide GVFB Members with Milk Each Month
Vancouver, B.C. – The Greater Vancouver Food Bank and Happy Planet Foods are partnering on a new program to provide milk once a month to GVFB members, for the first time in the Food Bank’s 36 year history. The 2L milk bottles will be co-branded with both GVFB and Happy Planet logos and will be distributed at the Food Bank’s 13 locations; the program was successfully launched July 5, 2018.
“Thanks to a first-of-its-kind partnership between the Greater Vancouver Food Bank and Happy Planet Foods, we are thrilled to be able to commit to providing milk to all of our members on a monthly basis,” says Cynthia Kinsella, Chief Development Officer of the Greater Vancouver Food Bank. “Happy Planet’s commitment is an example of how businesses can work successfully with the GVFB to provide high quality, healthy, fresh products that help reduce food insecurity in our region, and we thank them for their partnership.”
“At Happy Planet, we are passionate about food, and as a long-term partner of the Greater Vancouver Food Bank, we are pleased to be able to continue our work to reduce food insecurity in BC, offering fresh, nutritious milk to GVFB members each month,” says Randal Ius, VP, Brand Development of Happy Planet Foods.
This partnership is now possible thanks, in part, to the Food Bank’s improved warehouse operations and refrigeration abilities. Milk will be fresh and cold when provided to members each month. Members are reminded to refrigerate the bottles in their homes as soon as possible.
