Danny Welsh Volunteer of the Year Award

Every year, thousands of volunteers generously donate their time, energy and passion to the Food Bank. We celebrate the contributions of all our volunteers and recognize those individuals who have gone above and beyond.

The Danny Welsh Volunteer of the Year Award is a new, annual award that will be presented to one volunteer who represents dedication and commitment to the Greater Vancouver Food Bank (GVFB).

It is named after one of the GVFB’s long serving volunteers, Danny Welsh.  In 2016 Danny was awarded The National Sovereign’s Medal for Volunteers which was presented to him by the Governor General’s office.

This year, we want to honour and thank volunteer Paula Wilson.

The food bank benefits from more than 95,000 hours of volunteer work each year. We simply cannot do the work we do without the help of our volunteers. They are the lifeblood of this organization, and we want to extend our deepest gratitude to you. Your work here is deeply appreciated and valued.

Congratulations Paula, and thank you again for all you do to better our city.
